Our Story
The Fireplace Company began with a love of beautiful homes — and a lifetime spent around fireplaces.
Kirstie was brought up with fireplaces from a young age, when her father had his own showrooms in Devon. From there came a natural passion for interiors, design and creating spaces that feel good to live in. After training in interior design, fireplaces became a wonderful meeting point between the two.
James came from a business and sales background, bringing a different set of skills and a real understanding of people, products and business.
So, in 2005, we decided to bring our experience together and create something of our own.
And The Fireplace Company was born.
More Than a Fireplace
We've always felt that choosing a fireplace is about much more than choosing a product.
It's about the room around it. The house you live in. The way you want to feel when you walk through the door at the end of the day.
A fireplace can completely change a room — sometimes quietly, sometimes dramatically — and getting it right is about finding the balance between how something looks and how it works.
That's where our experience comes in.
Over the years, we've helped hundreds of lovely customers find fireplaces, fires and wood burners that feel right for their homes. We've learnt a lot along the way, and we're still just as interested in beautiful materials, good design and clever ideas as we were when we started.
Our Showroom
We wanted our showroom to feel different from a traditional fireplace shop.
Somewhere you can take your time. Somewhere you can see things properly, compare different styles and imagine how they might look in your own home.
We bring together fireplaces, fires and wood burners that we genuinely love — from timeless classics to beautifully simple contemporary designs.
And because we come at fireplaces from both an interiors and technical perspective, we can help with both sides of the decision: how it looks and how it works.
