Onyx Eclipse 65HLR Electric Fire
The Eclipse 65HLR adds height where it matters: 168mm taller than the 65R, in a near-square format that gives the flames a bigger window and the room a stronger focal point. It is the Eclipse made for mantels — at home beneath a classic shelf or set flush into a bespoke wall. Ask about the Eclipse range at our Taunton showroom, or book a free home survey.

Product Overview
Height changes the character of a fire. The 65HLR's taller, near-square window gives the flames more room and the fuel bed more presence — more of the flicker and rise that make electric flames convincing. It is the natural partner for a mantel: beneath a shelf, the proportions look considered rather than squeezed. Inside is the same Authentic LCD Flame Technology as the rest of the range — sixteen settings, logs lit from within, amber or white downlighting — with 2kW of thermostatic heat on call. If a mantel is part of the plan, start here.

4-Sided Frame
The full 4-sided frame, fitted as standard, gives the 65HLR its clean built-in finish — four gloss-black sides that conceal the edges of the opening and let the fire sit flush in a bespoke wall. Beneath the optional Pembroke mantel it reads as a considered, complete fireplace.

The Eclipse Range — Four Sizes
The same flame technology across four distinct formats — from the standard-opening 40R to the widescreen 75R.

Eclipse 40R
Portrait, made for 16-inch openings.

Eclipse 65R
Landscape — the living-room classic.

Eclipse 65HLR
Near-square, mantel-friendly height.

Eclipse 75R
The widest — the widescreen statement.
Made for Mantels
The 65HLR's taller format is the natural partner for a mantel shelf, traditional or contemporary. Fitted 4-sided, it sits flush beneath a classic shelf; with the lower trim removed, it hearth-mounts neatly beneath the shelf line. Either way, the proportions hold.

With the Pembroke Mantel
The Pembroke pairs the full 4-sided frame with a classic shelf above — traditional in outline, anything but traditional in operation.

With the Malmö Mantel
The Malmö suits the 3-sided configuration — lower trim removed, the fire hearth-mounted beneath the shelf. The open, traditional arrangement.
Set the Mood
With the Mood Lighting System, thirteen colours of LED light wash the wall around the mantel and shelving — the fire's ambience extended across the whole wall.

Frequently Asked Questions
What sizes does the Onyx Eclipse come in?
Four: the 40R (portrait, for standard 16-inch openings), the 65R (landscape), this 65HLR (near-square, with the taller window) and the 75R (the widest). All four share the same flame technology, controls and app — you are choosing the shape that suits your room.
What is the difference between the 65HLR and 65R?
Same width and the same technology throughout — but the 65HLR stands 168mm taller, giving a near-square window with real vertical presence. The extra height is what makes it so well suited to mantel installations. If no mantel is planned, the 65R's landscape format may sit better.
Can the Eclipse 65HLR be fitted with a mantel?
Yes — it is the Eclipse made for mantels. Keep the full 4-sided frame for a flush fit beneath a shelf, as shown with the Pembroke, or remove the lower trim and hearth-mount it, as with the Malmö. We can advise on clearances and proportions at your free home survey.
What is the heat output of the Eclipse 65HLR?
Up to 2kW, thermostatically controlled to a set point up to 35°C — set the temperature and the fire holds it. Flames run with or without heat, and there is a fan-only mode for summer. Ample for the living rooms it is likely to find itself in.
Can I control the fire from my phone?
Yes. The MUS Flame app for iOS and Android handles flames, lighting and heat, with nine MyFlame presets — three of them yours to customise. An illuminated touch panel on the fire and a remote handset are included as standard.
Does it need a chimney or flue?
No — fully electric. The tapered firebox slots into a prepared chamber or bespoke wall with no chimney, flue or gas connection required; it simply needs a standard socket. Our in-house team can build the chamber and fit fire and mantel together.
Can I see the Onyx Eclipse on display near Taunton?
