Onyx Eclipse 75R Electric Fire

Onyx Eclipse 75R Electric Fire

At 789mm, the Eclipse 75R is the widest of the range — an inset fire for spacious interiors and feature walls, where a smaller fire would look apologetic. Behind the wide glass: sixteen flame settings, logs lit from within, downlighting in amber or white. Ask about the Eclipse range at our Taunton showroom, or book a free home survey and we will check the proportions in your room.

Product Overview

Width is a luxury most fires cannot offer. The 75R can: at 789mm it gives the flames a panorama, and in a large room or on a feature wall that scale reads as confidence rather than size for its own sake. The technology matches the proportions — sixteen flame settings, logs glowing from within, amber or white downlighting over the ember bed — and the 2kW thermostatic heater will hold a generous room at the temperature you set. If you are building a media wall or bespoke chamber for a larger space, this is the fire we would put in it.

Onyx Eclipse 75R with 4-sided integrated frame

4-Sided Frame

The full frame, fitted as standard: four sides of gloss black that give the 75R a clean, built-in finish and conceal the cut edges of the chamber. At this width the frame matters — it is what makes a 789mm opening look intentional rather than excavated.

  • Visible frame: 789 × 554mm
  • Depth: approx. 272mm
  • Heat output: up to 2kW, thermostatic
  • Tapered firebox for easy slot-in installation
  • Product code: 228-381

The Eclipse Range — Four Sizes

The same flame technology across four distinct formats — from the standard-opening 40R to this widescreen 75R.

Engineered for a Considered Fit

A fire this wide could be awkward to place; the tapered firebox says otherwise. Narrower at the back than the front, it eases into prepared chambers and bespoke walls, and the integrated gloss-black frame hides every cut edge — so the wide frame sits clean and intentional.

Set the Mood

The Mood Lighting System was made for walls this size: up to six metres of LED in thirteen colours, washing light along the full width of the fire and whatever hangs above it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What sizes does the Onyx Eclipse come in?

Four: the 40R (portrait, for standard 16-inch openings), the 65R (landscape), the 65HLR (near-square and taller) and this 75R — the widest of the range. All four share the same flame technology, controls and app, so the decision comes down to the scale of your room and wall.

How is the Eclipse 75R installed?

The 75R's tapered firebox is designed to slot into a prepared chamber or bespoke wall — at this width, most often a media wall or a generous fireplace chamber. The integrated gloss-black frame gives a clean, built-in finish. Our in-house team will measure, build and install, starting with a free home survey.

What is the heat output of the Eclipse 75R?

Up to 2kW, thermostatically controlled to your chosen temperature anywhere up to 35°C, with the flames running with or without heat and a fan-only mode for summer. The 75R usually lives in larger rooms, where the full 2kW is genuinely useful rather than generous on paper.

What is the difference between the 3-sided and 4-sided frame?

Every Eclipse comes with the integrated 4-sided gloss-black frame as standard. Take off the lower trim and it becomes a 3-sided, hearth-mounted configuration — open at the base for the traditional look. Nothing extra is needed either way — the trim is part of the frame you already have.

Can I control the fire from my phone?

Yes. The MUS Flame app for iOS and Android controls flames, lighting and heat from your phone, with nine MyFlame presets — three customisable — for the looks you return to. An illuminated touch panel and remote handset come with the fire.

Is the 75R too big for my room?

Honest answer: possibly. At 789mm the 75R wants a spacious room or a proper feature wall; in a standard sitting room it can dominate. The 65R or 65HLR may suit better — bring us the wall measurements, or book a free home survey, and we will tell you plainly which way to go.
